Window cords can be a strangulation hazard to young children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises corded window coverings are one of the top 5 hidden hazards in homes. Check to see if your window coverings have exposed or dangling cords, and if so you should retrofit or replace them. Safety experts recommend having only cordless window coverings in homes that have young children.
